A little more about me
My name is Sam Allen. I enjoy tinkering with everything, from cars to computers. I get a thrill from creating spreadsheets and crunching numbers to make decisions. I love music and I enjoy hiking, camping, and anything else to do with the mountains. I also recently acquired some chickens and am absolutely in love with them.
I have diverse experience in leadership, project management, and IT. I have been a software engineer for over 6 years but want to transition into something new, so I decided to join the MBA program at the University of Utah Eccles School of Business.
I’m passionate about leadership, specifically the human aspect of leadership and helping others achieve their potential. I have spent several years studying emotional intelligence and organizational behavior and believe it is the most important area for a leader to develop. I love to challenge the status quo and discover new ways to solve problems. I feel like I’m capable of making a lasting impact on the world if given the opportunity.
After the program I hope to find a position that will provide me opportunities to sharpen my leadership skills and continue to learn and grow.
